The Pros' Picks

Golfers all have favorite courses. We base our choices on such factors as challenge, beauty, and how a course suits our game. To learn how some of the state's best golfers looked at the state's courses, we asked Silver State club pros and managers to name their favorite North Nevada and Tahoe links. Thirty-two of the experts responded. They were clear on their top choices, giving Edgewood 10 first-place votes, Shadow Creek four, and Genoa Lakes three, but the honors were widely distributed, as 53 courses were listed. Following are the experts' top picks: Edgewood Tahoe, Stateline (24) Genoa Lakes, Carson Valley (18) Incline Championship, Lake Tahoe (15) Dayton Valley Country Club (13) Desert Inn, Las Vegas ( 12) Las Vegas Paiute Resort Courses ( 11) Lakeridge Golf Course, Reno ( 11 ) Shadow Creek, North Las Vegas (9) Las Vegas Country Club (9) Spanish Trail, Las Vegas (8) Tahoe Donner, Truckee (8)
